Email List

Anyone interested in ARI may join our email list. It is for the members of ARI but also for those who for whatever reason are not members of ARI. What is an email list?

• Our email list is a way to communicate with each other. It is a way to ask questions, give suggestions, and make announcements to the whole group with one email.
• When you send your email to the list, it goes to every member of the list including yourself. When someone responds to your email, that also goes to every member. It is rapid communication with a large group.

General Rules for email lists

• Courtesy: Because your email goes to a large group, it is important to be especially considerate in what you say. The rules of simple courtesy apply.
• Trim: Another important thing to remember is to trim the previous message when you reply. This is especially true if you get the message as a digest which has several messages on it. Trim the message down to the part you are responding to; so that it is not excessively long. A good rule of thumb is that your response should be about as long or longer than the part of the message you are responding to.
• No Forwards: Please do not forward things that you get from other lists to this list. People sign up for this list to read what the members have to say. They will sign up for other lists if they want to read them.

How to Join the email list

• Go to http://cpprovince.org/mailman/listinfo/ari_cpprovince.org
• Enter your email address and your name in the first two blanks
• Enter the password you choose and enter it again to confirm it.
• Click Subscribe
• You will receive an email at the address you listed. You should reply to that email. This confirms that you wish to subscribe. You will receive another email after your subscription has been approved telling you that you are now subscribed. It may be a while before that comes, because a moderator for the list will need to approve your subscription.
• You may then send emails to the list by writing an ordinary email to ari@cpprovince.org. You will also begin to receive any emails sent to the list by other members.
